Local context

What we see when we work in Glasgow

Practical, area-specific notes — not generic copy.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and operates within the distinct Scottish framework: the Additional Support for Learning (Scotland) Act 2004 for children, the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, and the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. Our Glasgow practitioners are familiar with all of these.

Glasgow has some of the most concentrated areas of deprivation in Scotland (parts of the East End, Govan and Castlemilk), historically high adult mental-health prevalence (the “Glasgow effect” documented in public health literature), and one of the largest urban Scottish populations.

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde provides community mental health, learning disability and adult ND services across Glasgow. Adult ASD/ADHD diagnostic waits in Greater Glasgow remain long; we do not require a diagnosis.

Glasgow tenement flats — particularly in the West End and Southside — have small kitchens, narrow common closes and stair-only access. We routinely work in tenement housing as well as 1960s-70s tower blocks, post-war estates in Easterhouse and Drumchapel, and bungalows in Bearsden-bordering wards.

For commissioners & professionals

Working with Glasgow City Council

If you are a social worker, OT, housing officer, safeguarding lead or commissioner in Glasgow, here is how Neatly fits alongside your work.

Statutory alignment

We deliver a person-centred, trauma-informed model that complements Care Act 2014 (or the equivalent Scottish, Welsh or NI framework) assessments and multi-agency self-neglect & hoarding work. We are explicitly NOT a deep-clean contractor.

Procurement & commissioning

Neatly is willing to engage with the Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership, Glasgow ASL services and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde community teams. We are familiar with Scottish-specific safeguarding (Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007) and Scottish ASN frameworks.
