What we work with

Built around how autistic brains actually work

Predictability, sensory regulation, and clear communication aren't 'nice to haves' for us — they're the service.

Sensory environments are everything

Lighting, scent, sound, surface texture — the wrong combination makes a room unusable. We match your declutterer to your sensory profile and adjust as we go.

Predictability matters

Surprises cost regulation budget. Every session has a written brief in advance — what we'll do, in what order, with what changes — and nothing changes mid-session without checking.

Communication preferences vary

Some autistic clients want to chat, others want silence and a written checklist. Both are valid. You tell us your preference, we work that way.

Special interests deserve space

We don't ask you to justify your collections, your library, or the project that has taken over the spare room. Decluttering means making space work for you, not getting rid of what you love.

How we adapt

How we adapt

Specific things we do differently for autistic clients. Tell us at intake what matters to you and we'll adjust further.

Written brief before every session

We send you a clear, written outline 24 hours before each session: what we'll do, in what order, who's coming, how long it will take. Nothing changes without you agreeing first.

  • Step-by-step plan, not a vague "we'll see what happens"
  • Clear arrival time and end time
  • A photo of your declutterer if it helps

Sensory matching

Tell us what you can't cope with — fluorescent lights, perfume, certain textures, any noise — and we match you to a declutterer who works the same way and brings the right kit.

  • Fragrance-free options as standard
  • No bin bags rustling if that's a no for you
  • Quiet voice, low light, no small talk if preferred

Low-demand approach

We never demand a decision. We offer one, wait, and accept whatever answer comes back — including 'I don't know'. PDA-aware framing is available on request.

  • Multiple-choice prompts rather than open questions
  • "You don't have to decide today" is a real option
  • Breaks built into the schedule, not earned

Online sessions if a stranger in your home is too much

We can run a full decluttering session over video. Your declutterer guides, suggests, and keeps you company; you do the physical work, in your own space, alone.

  • 60 or 90 minute sessions
  • Camera off if you prefer
  • Same person every session — no rotating staff

What a session looks like

What a session might look like

Three example sessions. Yours will follow a written plan agreed in advance.

Illustrative example

A bedroom that hasn't been usable since the move

Two pre-call video chats to plan the layout, then a single in-person session with your matched declutterer. They arrive at the time stated, follow the written brief, ask only the questions on the list, and leave when the timer says so. The room is set up exactly as agreed.

Illustrative example

Hyperfocused for years, now overwhelmed by what built up

A short series of online sessions. Your declutterer keeps you company on video while you sort one box at a time. They prompt with "keep / sell / give / not today" and accept any answer — including the fourth one — without follow-up questions.

Illustrative example

A kitchen that needs to be sensory-friendly

A planning session covering lighting, cupboard layout, and which items deserve to be visible. Then a single in-person session moving things into their new homes. We match you with a declutterer who runs an unscented session and works in low light.

FAQs

Questions autistic clients ask

The most common questions before a first session.

Yes. We run full decluttering sessions over video — your declutterer plans with you, keeps you company, and prompts you through the work, while you stay in control of your own space, alone if you want. Many autistic clients find this format more sustainable than in-person sessions.

Plan a session, in writing, in advance

Start with a video call to agree exactly what will happen. No commitment to anything else.
