What we see when we work in Hackney
Practical, area-specific notes — not generic copy.
Hackney is one of the most demographically diverse and rapidly-changing boroughs in the UK — a long-established Caribbean and African community alongside one of the largest Charedi (Strictly Orthodox) Jewish communities in Europe in Stamford Hill, plus the Vietnamese community around Kingsland Road and a young creative population in Dalston, Hackney Wick and Shoreditch.
We work with extended-family households in Stamford Hill and Stoke Newington, ex-LCC estates in Hackney Central and Homerton, Victorian terraces in Clapton and De Beauvoir, and warehouse conversions in Hackney Wick. Our team includes practitioners experienced in working respectfully across Hackney's faith communities, and we will not impose a Western 'minimalism' aesthetic on anyone’s home.
East London NHS FT provides community mental health, learning disability and adult ND services across Hackney and the wider City & Hackney area. Adult diagnostic waits remain long; we do not require a diagnosis.
Hackney has high private-rented sector turnover and many small flats — sessions adapt around tenancy timelines, end-of-tenancy decluttering needs, and the realities of small storage.

For commissioners & professionals
Working with London Borough of Hackney
If you are a social worker, OT, housing officer, safeguarding lead or commissioner in Hackney, here is how Neatly fits alongside your work.
Statutory alignment
We deliver a person-centred, trauma-informed model that complements Care Act 2014 (or the equivalent Scottish, Welsh or NI framework) assessments and multi-agency self-neglect & hoarding work. We are explicitly NOT a deep-clean contractor.
Procurement & commissioning
Neatly is willing to engage with Hackney Adult Social Care, SEND commissioning and the North East London ICB. Our model is suited to City & Hackney safeguarding caseloads and aligns with East London FT community teams.
